2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift launched, with prices starting from INR 63.6 lakh going upto INR 80.9 lakh (Ex-Showroom). Customers can chose from 5 different variants with three different engine options.

E200 Expression Petrol – INR 63.6 Lakh
E220D Expression Diesel – INR 64.8 Lakh
E200 Exclusive Petrol – INR 67.2 Lakh
E220D Exclusive Diesel – INR 68.3 Lakh
E350D AMG Line Diesel – INR 80.9 Lakh

Engine

In total there are three engines on offer which are carried over from the outgoing E-Class. It starts with a 2.0 litre in-line 4 cylinder petrol engine with 197hp/320Nm, the second engine option is a 2.0 litre in-line 4-cylinder diesel with 194hp/400Nm and the top of the line AMG line gets a 3.0 litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel with 286hp/600Nm. All the engine options are available with a 9-speed torque converter as standard.

Design

The India specific long wheelbase E-Class gets revised styling with new fascia, LED headlamps, wider three-slat chrome grille and chrome trim for the fog lamp inserts, newly designed rear with new split tail light design and fresh bumpers.

For first time a series E-Class features a sporty AMG Line exterior styling for India. It gets redesigned headlamps and tail lamps, Diamond studded grill and AMG design bumpers in front and rear with sporty side skirts and the beautiful 18” AMG alloys.

Interiors

Interiors are inspired from the new S-Class. It gets a restyled steering wheel with touch controls. A digital cockpit and MBUX with two 12.3-inch screens, one for the instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system, equipped with ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice command feature, two USB ports, and a rear-centre console touchscreen.

Features

In terms of features, 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class gets MBUX latest software with Linguatronic voice commands, a touchpad with multi finger gestures and handwriting control, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Mercedes Me connected car solutions.

In terms of comfort it gets three zone Thermotronic climate control, Air Body Control and Dynamic Select drive modes. While safety is taken care with active parking assist, 360 degree camera, PRE SAFE, knee bag, power close, tyre pressure monitoring system, seven airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, ESP, ISOFIX child-seat mounts etc.
