Mahindra Marazzo Launched

Mahindra Marazzo Front

Mahindra has been silent for quite some time, with launches mainly included facelifts. But, it seems they were silently working on a new product and were putting their best efforts to come out with a strong, bold looking genuine Toyota Innova competitor.

Mahindra Marazzo might sound a weird name, at least in this part of the world is actually derived from  Basque, a sub language of Spanish, which means shark.

Mahindra Marazzo is a collaborated effort of Mahindra Design Studio and the Italian design house Pininfarina (Owned by Mahindra Group). Mahindra XUV500’s design was inspired by a Cheetah, similar marketing strategy has been undertaken for the Marazzo as well. You can easily guess what the design inspiration I am talking about. Yes, it is a Shark inspired design.  Its shark-inspired design is evident in the streamlined and aerodynamic shape, in the overall silhouette and in the front grille inserts which resemble shark-like teeth and adds to the vehicle’s aggressive stance. The design cues further flow into the tail lamps that are inspired by the tail of a shark.

Mahindra Marazzo 8 seater

It comes with a  unique set up of body on frame chassis with front-wheel drive architecture and east-west mounted engine. It has a 7-seater and an 8-seater option. With the extensive use of Aluminium, Mahindra has successfully reduced the over all weight, making the Marazzo lightest of all its big sized vehicles.  Blacked out headlights, the front grille with chrome bits and the angular fog lamps gives the front look good, but the slight resemblance to Xylo is still present. At the rear looks striking with LED tail lamps and a chrome slat.

In terms of safety Dual front airbags, ISOFIX child mounts, all four disc brakes and speed sensitive door locking are standard across the range. In addition to these reverse parking camera and sensors are also available in the top spec.
