Indian cars score Zero in GLOBAL NCAP crash test yet again!

Global NCAP has crash tested vehicles by Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Renault and Mahindra. In the recent crash test Maruti Suzuki Eeco, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid were tested.


Renault KWID

Multiple variants of Renault Kwid with different body stiffness (In total, three variants) were crash tested. All the variants were awarded 0/5 for adult occupant protection.

According to NCAP – “As a result of Global NCAP’s SaferCarsforIndia crash testing Renault has sought to improve the safety performance of the Kwid. Four versions of the Kwid have been produced with different safety features, with the fourth only recently released and yet to be tested by Global NCAP.” (Source)


Maruti Celerio and Eeco

Scored zero in Adult occupant protection and one start in child occupant protection. Considering structural collapse airbags are not likely to protect driver from life threatening injuries.

Hyundai EON standard variant scored Zero in Adult occupant protection and two star in child occupant protection.

Mahindra Scorpio

Scored Zero in Adult occupant protection and two stars in child safety protection. The collapse of the structure and lack of airbags would lead to life threatening injuries to at-least one of the adult passengers.
