Maruti Suzuki finally launching a full fledged premium hatch-back Baleno to rival Hyundai I20, VW Polo and the Honda Jazz in India. Maruti Suzuki Baleno is all set to launch in India on 26th October, 2015. The Baleno hatchback was recently unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show.
The new hatchback carries the Baleno name, but is completely different from the same name model available in India more than a decade ago. Maruti Suzuki Baleno based on the ‘Liquid Flow design’ looks modern and stylish at par with the competition.
The Baleno hatchback in Europe will be available with a 1.0 Litre Boosterjet direct injection turbo charged petrol mill. The Boosterjet engine will not be offered in India, and is expected to be available with the already proven and reliable K12M 1.2 litre petrol mill with 84 PS power and 115 NM torque and the Fiat sourced DDIS diesel engine with 75 PS or 90 PS power.
Maruti suzuki Baleno features a monocoque structure, new design language for the exterior as well as inside the cabin with first in India Apple Car play integration is expected to give the segment leader Hyundai i20 a tough competition. A CVT petrol variant will also be offered with a petrol engine. The hatchback for the European market will measure more than 4 meters unlike Indian less than 4 meter size.
The New Baleno will go on sale in Europe in second quarter of 2016 but will it the Indian Shores on 26th October, 2015 via the new NEXA channels of Maruti.
