Tata Bolt launched in India at INR 4.44 Lakhs to compete with the likes of Suzuki Swift and Grand i10. The bolt hatchback is based on the Vista’s platform, which has been re-engineered. Tata motors has started the online booking and it received a whopping 1500 bookings even before its price was revealed. The Tata Bolt hatchback is INR 36000 cheaper than the Zest (Base).
Even though the Tata Bolt shares a similar front end to the outgoing Vista, but overall it is totally a new hatchback by Tata. It is launched in four trim levels and two engine options. The Petrol variants are priced between INR 4.44 lakhs to INR 5.75 lakhs. The oil burner (diesel) variants are priced between INR 6.34 lakhs to INR 7.32 lakhs.
The petrol engine doing duty on the Tata Bolt is the Revotron turbocharged 1.2 litre engine churning out 89 BHP and 140 NM of torque with an ARAI certified average of 17.57 km per litre. It also features segment first Multi-Drive which allows the driver to alter the throttle of the car between City, Eco and Sport modes. The diesel bolt is the 1.3 Quadrajet engine producing 75 BHP and 190 NM of torque with an ARAI certified mileage of 22.95 per litre.
The Tata Bolt measures 3,825 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width, 1,562 mm in height and 2,470 mm in wheelbase and a boot space of 210 liters. Unlike previous TATA models, the Bolt has been loaded with features such as smoked projector headlights, alloy wheels, dual airbags with ABS and EBD, a touchscreen Harman infotainment system with video and GPS support, electrically adjustable mirrors and climate control.
