After being the leader in Cab service provider in India. Ola Auto rickshaw service is being launched in Bangalore to bid goodbye to bargaining and waiting for a three wheeler.
OLA Auto Rickshaw Service Experiment
Ola has given the auto rickshaw driver a Huawei handset for booking and tracking. Ola has also opened up bank accounts for the drivers. The rickshaw are run only on meters and a convenience fee of Rupees 10 is charged. The drivers are given Etiquette training a well by the company. A test run of 300 auto rickshaws is being experimented in Bangalore. This is the second time a company is trying to tap the unorganized Auto Rickshaw market.
M Gaadi, which launched in Bangalore a year back, has about 10,000 auto drivers on its fleet. The company too charges a convenience fee of Rs10.
Ola raised $210 million from Japan’s SoftBank Corp and existing investors at a valuation of nearly $650 million. The company also slashed its prices for its lower-end car business—Ola mini—to Rs 10 /km in Delhi and Bangalore, making it the lowest in the country.
