Germany based luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes has launched the GLA 45 AMG in India at INR 69.6 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). The GLA 45 AMG is the ninth offering and the fourth AMG vehicle by the luxury brand in India this year. Mercedes declared at the start of the year to launch 10 new models this year.

Mercedes GLA 45 AMG is a sporty and powerful version of the GLA that was launched this year. The AMG kit includes Red Brake calipers, Side skirts, 19 inch alloy wheels, AMG and Turbo Badging with an addition of the performance exhaust system standard. Powered by a turbo-charged 2.0 liter petrol engine churning out 355 BHP and 450 NM torque at 2250 RPM mated to a 7 speed AMG speedshift gearbox. The GLA class launched india few months back is powered by the same engine but produces 134 BHP and 300 NM of torque as compared to the AMG variant.

Mercedes has reported an impressive first 9 months sales this year at 7529 units. in order to cope up with high demand, the chakan plant is being upgraded to produce 20000 units per annum, from the current 10000 units per annum.
