The british automobile brand’s answer to the BMW 3 series has been revealed in the form of 2015 Jaguar XE at an event in London. It will be priced at £27000.
Jaguar claims the XE to be the most fun to drive vehicle in its class. Taking the design cues from XJ and F-type, the Jaguar XE looks classy. It is longer than a 3 series, shorter than A4 and a cabin comparable to C class. Powered by ingenium 2.2 liter diesel engine producing 161 bhp doing a 0-60 mph in 0.8 seconds giving better fuel economy than its rivals BMW, Audi, Merc. Also on offer will be two petrol ingenium engines. The top of the line trim will be powered by a six cylinder 3.0 litre 336 bhp supercharged petrol engine. All the engines of Jaguar XE will be mated to a 8 speed auto gearbox at launch and in near future a 6 speed manual box will also be available.
On the inside the gear selector rises from the center similar to an XJ. A centrally mounted touch panel has been provided and the center console is rather cockpit sort with a large number of buttons to use. Panoramic sunroof and class leading 40:20:40 spacious rear seats gives plenty of leg room and elbowroom. The boot is slightly shortened at 485 litres in order to give a more airy cabin.
The Jaguar XE has been spruced up with 20 inch alloys, dual exhaust, rear spoiler, headup display, 8 inch infotainment system, reverse traffic monitoring, road sign recognition, all surfsce progress control system to name some of the exclusive features.
