Audi India launched the highly anticipated A3 sedan in New Delhi today at a mouthwatering price of INR 22.95 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Audi A3 sedan is launched in the price bracket where in the Mercedes and BMW already have their A-class and 1 series respectively. Mercedes will soon launch the CLA a direct competitor to the A3 sedan. Till then Audi enjoys the first movers advantage in the entry level luxury sedan category.
The new Audi sedan has followed a unique strategy by pricing the high demand engine variant cheaper than its petrol sibling. The diesel variant starts at INR 22.95 Lakhs in comparison to the petrol variant which starts at INR 28.95 Lakhs. A3 diesel is available in three trims- Attraction, Premium, Premium Plus and Technology, whereas Petrol is available only in Premium+ trim.
Audi has two engine options at offer. The 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine churning out 143 BHP and 320 NM of torque paired to a 6- speed automatic gearbox with a certified ARAi efficiency of 20.38 km/l and a 1.8 liter TSI petrol engine churning out 180 BHP and 250 NM of torque paired to a 7 speed automatic gearbox with an ARAI efficiency of 16.6 Km/l.
The Audi A3 sedan measures 4456 x 1796 x 1416 (Length x Width x Height) and is equipped with Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED day time running lights, 17 inch alloys, 7 inch infotainment system, automatic dual tone climate control, touchpad with handwriting recognition, panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, rear view camera, 7 airbage, ABS, EBD, ESC etc on its top of the line model.
