At the Renault Kwid media event official details of the sub 4 lakh hatchback were uncovered. Kwid will compete with entry level hatchbacks like Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai Eon. Strikingly Renault has got the design and fuel efficiency department right this time. The Renault Kwid although an entry level hatchback looks more like a crossover borrowing design cues from the Duster SUV.
According to the official details Renault Kwid has a jaw dropping ARAI fuel efficiency figures of 25.71 KM/L, making it the most fuel efficient petrol car in India. Considering the technical specs it is powered by a 796 cc three cylinder engine capable of 54 PS of power and 72 NM of torque mated to a 5 – speed manual transmission.
Technically the Kwid hatch measure 3679 mm in length, 1579 mm width and 2423 mm of wheel base with 180 mm ground clearance and a 300 liter boot. . Light weight construction with an all aluminum engine leads to an overall weight of just 660 kg.
Kwid is equipped with a 7 inch touch screen system with Bluetooth, Navigation, sd card slot, USB and AUX-In.
