Toyota Fuel Cell Car Mirai

Toyota fuel cell car MiraiToyota Fuel Cell car Mirai will be introduced mass-market within the u. s. next year, hoping to copy the success of its Prius hybrid with a vehicle that runs on hydrogen rather than gasoline.

The four-person Toyota Fuel Cell car  named Mirai, is the Japanese word for “future”, will reach the California dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2015. Solely two hundred units will be on offer within the u. s. next year, with volumes increasing to 3,000 by 2017.

Mirai will cost $57,500, that may drop to $45,000 as federal and state incentives are applied. Fuel cell vehicles run on electricity from cells that mix hydrogen with water and emit vapor. However lack of infrastructure may be a major challenge for car makers. Toyota is investing in fuel stations in each California and Northeastern u. s. The Mirai will go three hundred miles without the need for refueling.

There are solely 3 electric cell vehicles within the United States: the Honda FCX Clarity, Mercedes-Benz F-Cell and the Hyundai Tuscon fuel cell.
